Float

The float-type accumulator was developed to overcome the interface mixing of gas and fluid inherent in non-separated accumulators by reducing the area of liquid in contact with the gas. Gas introduced at the top of the bottle and is kept separate from the stored fluid by a buoyant float. The float designs have the power to go beyond the simplest bladder accumulators. Float accumulators are a superb alternative when temperatures are outside the capabilities of bladder accumulators. The capacity of Float type accumulators is up to 35-gallons — the quantity occupied by the float or bladder typically taken to be one (1) gallon. When fluid is released, the float lowers, closing the valve and preventing nitrogen gas from escaping.
